August does not mean end of wear. September on the French Riviera is quieter and warmer than most people expect. October in Ibiza is still pool weather. A long-weekend in Lisbon or Palma in early autumn costs half what it did in July, and the sea temperature has not caught up yet.
A well-made pair of swim shorts bought now gets worn this year, packed for next year, and still holds its shape in year three. That is the case for buying quality at the end of the season rather than fast fashion at the start of it.
